Hello, and welcome to CoCal Counseling!
I’m Katelyn, a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and owner of CoCal Counseling. I offer individual virtual mental health therapy to clients residing in California, Colorado, and Virginia.
With over a decade of experience, I have deep respect for those who juggle multiple roles—parents, caregivers, military families, and high-achievers—often prioritizing others while their own needs take a backseat. I specialize in helping individuals reconnect with their authentic selves, especially when life’s external pressures or internal struggles have left them feeling lost or stuck.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working in diverse settings, including community mental health, residential treatment programs, in-home therapy for military families, group practices, and private practice. These experiences have given me valuable insight into the unique challenges people face and equipped me with effective tools to support lasting growth and healing.
I approach therapy with warmth, honesty, and curiosity. Our time together is tailored to your unique needs—there’s no “one size fits all” here. I use a humanistic foundation combined with evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), blending techniques that encourage both growth and self-acceptance.
Additionally, as a Certified Daring Way Facilitator (based on the work of Brené Brown), I guide individuals in confronting shame (yes, we all have it!) and overcoming the belief that they are “never ____ enough.” Together, we’ll work to cultivate courage, authenticity, and more joy in your life.
If you’re ready to step into this process, I’d be honored to work alongside you.
